Ash Sounds on Sunday 15th December 12.00 - 1.30pm at John Hope Gateway, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

An unexpected but wonderful aspect of Ash Rise has been the musical compositions that have been inspired by the project and performed for the soundtrack to the Ash Rise film.

We are excited to announce that on Sunday the 15th of December, there will be a recital of these works along with a discussion with the makers of the Ash Rise guitar - Concentric Harmony. The ash and concrete guitar is a unique collaboration by master luthiers Taran Guitars and furniture maker Nicholas Denney, a specialist in concrete.

Acclaimed jazz and traditional Scottish guitarist Chris Amer will play ‘AshRise’ a piece composed for the guitar by Andrew Blair. This will be the first public performance of the piece and the first time the guitar has been played in front of a live audience.

Singer and Songwriter Rowan Addy will play ‘Back to the Ground’, the main theme to the Ash Rise film and a poignant reflection of the life and loss of an ash tree, sang from the tree’s perspective.

Tickets for this one off event are available on eventbrite
